Fresh thinking and contemporary style meets authentic Medici history in this innovative vacation, venue and banqueting Estate, for modern travelers and busines
May 2015 sees the first opening of a restored and reimagined Italian wine estate with an intriguing international flavor
The Villa Medicea Di Lilliano Wine Estate (www.medicivilla.com) crowns a hill with magnificent views over Florence, which is just 15 minutes drive away. It’s an inspiring location for vacationing, banqueting, corporate events, conferences and unforgettable weddings and honey
All this is centered in sensitively restored buildings clustered around the original 15thcentury Medici villa. Yet the family opening the Estate to travelers, weddings and businesses have brought their ancient home into the 21stcentury.
In May, 2015, the Estate will open its newly restored state‐of‐the-art banquet hall and in August, will also open six individual residences, adjacent to the main Medici villa and within the original convent and 11th century lookout tower, all creatively refurbished inside. The stylish self catered accommodation includes air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, two new swimming pools, a courtyard, gardens and terraces, with far-reaching Tuscan views.
Surrounded by the Estate’s vineyards and olive groves, the private villa residences are tranquil and ideally located for vacationers, wedding guests and honeymooners. They’re also perfect for business executives wanting an extended stay in the hills of the Chianti Colli Fiorentini region, close to Florence, in a setting that helps them unwind outside work.
As well as satisfying traditional vacationers, lodging at Villa Medicea Di Lilliano Wine Estate also welcomes travelers who enjoy sharing accommodation. Some of the villas sleep up to ten people in separate suites, and encourage communal get-togethers in the large kitchen and dining rooms, gardens and swimming pool. Villa Di Lilliano Wine Estate is one of the region’s very few wine estates pioneering this concept for the contemporary traveler, and all those who like to share tales and interests.
international secret. Current owner of the magnificent Medici Villa at the heart of the Estate, Diletta Malenchini treasures its history. “Based on our family’s world travels and our interest in fashion and design,” explained Diletta, “We wanted to offer a groundbreaking lodging and banqueting concept that blends time-honored beauty with contemporary casual sophistication, to create a wine estate venue unique in Florence”. To achieve this, Diletta called on the Argentinian branch of the Malenchini family, and her cousin Fernando.
Architect Fernando Malenchini is renowned for unconventional projects such as the first luxurious Cavas Wine Lodge Relais & Chateaux estate in Mendoza, at the foothills of the Andes, and the state‐of‐ the-art Astilleros Milberg banquet hall in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Working closely with Diletta Malenchini, he and his firm have now created another unique concept in hospitality, banqueting, accommodation and experiences at Villa Medicea Di Lilliano.
This fresh new thinking encompasses more than sympathetically combining new interiors and amenities with historic buildings and gardens. The key to Villa Medicea Di Lilliano Wine Estate is exceptional personalization.
Businesses can create exactly the venue they need, for photo shoots, fashion shows, hospitality events or conferences. Couples can design their dream wedding around the atmospheric banquet hall, courtyards and gardens and the sublime photo opportunity of the frescoed villa chapel and experience authentic Tuscany.
